The English translation of this incredibly important work from 1552 dates from 1689, a time when England was actively looking for ways to demonize their Spanish enemies. The anonymous translator didn't have to exaggerate very much to accomplish that goal with this text, and the end product is an emotional but accurate version in seventeenth-century English. It can be used as a crib to the Spanish, giving the student that old-time feel as well as the meaning.
