One of Teague's ex-girlfriends, an Army officer, Aileen Griffen, calls unexpectedly, asking for his help. Their friend, Nadeya Raymund, Teague's former survival instructor, has gone missing. She was last seen in Daytona Beach, FL (not far from Teague) and was on the trail of a man who had knowledge of her fianc?'s murder. He agrees to look for her.
