Charles Wesley’s great hymn ‘And can it be?’ ends with the confident couplet: ‘Bold I approach the eternal throne And claim the crown, through Christ, my own.’ In this edition of Words of Life, with its theme ‘Approaching God’s Throne’, we explore why we believe it is possible to do so boldly. The writer, Major Liz Chape, also help us to discover the wonderful blessings we receive from knowing Jesus, the Son of God, as our ‘great High Priest’ ? emphasised in the Letter to the Hebrews. Her weekend readings encourage us to approach the throne through prayers found in the Old and New Testaments. The guest writer of the Pentecost series is Captain Pamela Maynor from the USA. She comments on the promise, presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Major Liz Chape is the daughter of Salvation Army officers. Commissioned an officer herself in 1986, she served in corps ministry (church leadership), later assisted in preparing candidates for their officer-training at William Booth College in London, and with her husband Geoff gave service in Bangladesh. They are now leaders of Regent Hall Corps. Liz enjoys walking in London's parks, writing, reading and anything to do with history. She is the mother of three grown-up children.画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。
